Pastor Kidwell and Family

Dear Friend,

My family and I are happy to introduce to you the Shining Light Baptist Church. Our church is a Christ-centered, family oriented ministry with a heart for people.

We have a burden and desire to minister to and meet the spiritual needs of today’s families. In 2003 after much prayer, the Lord led me to the Damascus area to start a New Testament, Independent Baptist Church.

Over fifty thousand doors have been knocked on in Gaithersburg, Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus. The first two years we met at John T. Baker Middle School in Damascus. In October, 2004 we chartered with thirteen members. Beginning in June, 2005, Sunday morning services were moved to the Rocky Hill Middle School in Clarksburg. We met at this location for 3½ years. Services are currently held at Salem Church on Ridge Road in Germantown. The church is presently seeking property or a building for a permanent location.

Many souls have been saved through outreaches such as: Bus Ministry, Vacation Bible School, Soul Winning Visitation, County and Community Fair Outreach, Tent Revival, Park Outreach, Highways and Hedges Baptist Mission (helping start and strengthen other Independent Baptist churches), as well as regular scheduled services.

My wife, children and I look forward to spending the rest of our lives here in the upper Montgomery County area, ministering and serving the Lord. I hope you will come and join us at Shining Light Baptist Church and experience a wealth of God’s blessings as we serve the Lord together.

“Looking Unto Jesus”,

Daily Manna from the Net for Thursday, February 23, 2012 [Jude 1:18-23]
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Jude 1:18-23 KJV
